    1893 Eglit-99 Columbian Medal
    Silvered White Metal, 50.5mm
    Mint State Details, Obverse hairlines
    Despite our "details" grade, this is still a very appealing piece. The reverse is hairline free and displays gorgeous, antique, iridescent patina over PL surfaces. The Columbus portrait obverse is more steely grey and shows a few too many hairlines, both in the fields and on Columbus's shoulders, to make a problem-free numerical grade. Intricately engraved, high-relief design on this hefty medal, issued for the 1892-1893 World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago. The Silvered White Metal composition is extremely rare.
