    Description

    Souvenir medallion from "Baby Day", September 16th, 1905, at the Lewis & Clark Exposition in Portland, OR.  Shevlin 14-15 in Bronze, all looped as issued - in this case the top loop was removed or broke off.  Sharp EF/AU detail overall, with some light damage and a sense of being slightly warped.  The Butterfield Bros. manufacturer's stamp is of
    a different type
    , and in a different location that either of the two examples imaged in Shevlin's book. To state this this is Rare is perhaps an understatement. In 30 years of looking for So Called Dollars and Exposition material, and being no more than 80 miles from where the event was held, I have never seen or owned another - until Jeff's book came out, I never even knew it existed!  Shevlin lists this as an R-7, however based upon my own experience it would have to be closer to the "R-8" end of that range.  While the condition is not ideal perhaps, the ability to simply acquire one may be of more importance.
