Description
HK-245A, considered the "Official Souvenir" Dollar of the 1894 California Midwinter Exposition in San Francisco, CA. There was no specific designation of any token as an official souvenir, however this serves as such. Moise dies, a bit more common overall than the HK-245 struck from dies designed by Charles Barber. NGC MS-63,
original medium chocolate Brown surfaces. Despite being a relatively common HK overall, NOT in Uncirculated grades. Only 7 in the grade at NGC and only 2 finer certified.
Also cataloged in Shevlin as SH-7-2. Last two available sales have been 1 in PCGS MS-62 and John Raymond's NGC MS-63 at 2, which was cheap as it had nicer surfaces than the PCGS piece.
