    Description

    HK-347, Official Medal of the 1907 Jamestown Tercentennial Exhibition. Choice Uncirculated, Gold-plated (H-K lists this as “gilt”), as sold with an attached pinback for wear during the event. These were struck on the grounds at the U. S. Mint exhibit, however I would assume that the various types that have pinbacks or were sold on badges, belt buckles, etc. may have been produced by private vendors who purchased numbers of copies from the Mint. A couple of small planchet flakes and a shallow “scratch” that was present on the medal prior to Gold-plating keep this out of the Gem category, however about as nice as you will find one as this appears to have never been worn as a pin. I
