Description

B-24 "Heart Of Texas" Post Card
Original WW2 souvenir post card, linen finish CURTEICH Art-Colortone card by Weiner News Company of San Antonio. Front features B-24 flying over Texas with motto HOWDY!/FROM DEEP IN THE HEART OF TEXAS/BOUND FOR TOKYO. Rear features a brief paragraph concerning the B-24 Liberators that were built at the Consolidated Aircraft plant in Fort Worth [later Consolidated Vultee/Convair].
While specific to the B-24 in this case, "Deep In The Heart Of Texas" was appropriate for many WW2 GIs, due to the numerous army camps throughout Central Texas [Camps Hood, Swift, Bowie, Barkeley, etc.], not to mention even more AAF air bases and stations. Card has never been mailed or used and is in excellent condition. Any questions please feel free to ask.
